Protesting police officers…
Protesting police officers make way for marching Evzones outside the Parliament building in central Athens yesterday morning as some 200 members of the country’s security forces gathered over a pay dispute with the government. Firefighters and port officials joined police officers who demonstrated in uniform. The police then entered Parliament and followed a session that was taking place only to disrupt the deputies. One policeman was arrested when it was thought he yelled ‘shut up’ to one of the deputies; he later said, however, that he was speaking to his rowdy colleagues.
