Otto Rehhagel…

Otto Rehhagel, the German coach of the Greek national soccer team, leaves the field at Copenhagen’s Parken Stadium on Saturday with his head bowed, knowing that his side has only an outside chance of qualifying for next year’s World Cup in Germany. Greece lost to Denmark 1-0 on Saturday thanks to a goal late in the first half from Michael Gravgaard, and now needs to beat Georgia on Wednesday in Athens while hoping that Turkey loses to Albania in Tirana and Denmark fails to win against Kazakhstan away. With the European Champions’ chance of qualifying having virtually disappeared, attention has turned to the issue of whether Rehhagel will stay on as national coach. The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) wants him to remain but Rehhagel refused to confirm whether he will stay.
