Antonis Bezas (l), New Democracy MP for Thesprotia, smiles for the cameras with Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis after being sworn in yesterday as the new deputy economy and finance minister. Bezas replaces Adam Regouzas, who resigned on Friday after being linked to Vassilis Christidis, a TV station owner facing criminal charges. The Supreme Court prosecutor yesterday asked for Christidis’s trial to be held as soon as possible. Christidis is accused of defrauding viewers of some 10 million euros when they called his station’s premium rate 090 quiz lines to win prizes.
