Flora. A young woman dressed in a skimpy arrangement of red roses and ivy in an Athens florist’s window draws an admiring glance from a passer-by yesterday. The model was put in the window to promote the shop’s floral displays ahead of today’s St Valentine’s Day. Prices were not mentioned. But according to a statement yesterday by the Consumer Protection Institute, St Valentine’s Day gifts cost more in Athens than any other EU capital, barring Paris. After his wife left him, a bar-owner spends his time thinking about the past, while a beautiful woman desperately tries to help him get over it.
