Two children make…

Two children make the most of the snowfall yesterday as they build a snowman in Filyro, close to Thessaloniki. Temperatures in parts of northern of Greece dipped to as low as -4C (25F), as strong winds and rainfall also made conditions difficult for drivers. Snow covered major highways in the region, requiring drivers to use snow chains, while authorities cleared roads using salt and snowplows. There were no major problems reported due to the weather conditions. High winds also kept ferries docked at the ports of Piraeus and Rafina yesterday. Temperatures in Athens are expected to dip today with a high of 7C (45F) forecast.
