A young girl looks up at a Christmas tree decorated with stars and snow yesterday and situated in front of Zappeion Hall in central Athens. With festive activities around the city in full swing, the City of Athens will close off parts of Athinas Street, between Sophocleous and Lykourgou, as of tomorrow due to preparations for New Year’s Eve celebrations that are to take place in Kotzia Square.
