A potato farmer works in his field yesterday in Xylophagou village near Larnaca, Cyprus. Police arrested some 100 farmers on the island after they threatened to drive their tractors to the Presidential Palace. The farmers have long been protesting for state aid to compensate them for declining sales and to help them find other jobs.
