Security is needed for any Olympics
I think that Pantelis Boukalas (February 12) should put his thoughts in order. The Greek Olympic Committee will do well to observe and copy things that are taking place in Salt Lake City. The American Indians Mr Boukalas sneers at are Native Americans and have a long tradition in American life and culture. As to the security measures, he must have a short memory in order to forget what happened in Munich and Atlanta [1972 and 1996 Summer Olympics] and recently in New York. If such thinking were to prevail in Greece, we had better kiss the 2004 Olympics goodbye. People all over the world will think twice about sending their children or coming to Greece in 2004.
