Staff at a National Bank of Greece…

Staff at a National Bank of Greece branch on Panepistimiou Street in central Athens carry equipment out of the building yesterday after it was firebombed by anarchists late on Monday night. The branch was seriously damaged by the attack but nobody was hurt. Meanwhile, a group of some 15 suspected anarchists last night attacked Christos Polyzogopoulos, the head of Greece’s largest umbrella union, GSEE, as he was driving his car in the Exarchia neighborhood of central Athens. Polyzogopoulos and a passenger were injured in the attack and were treated at a medical clinic before being discharged. The car was damaged in the attack.
