Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis speaks during a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York yesterday. Bakoyannis was scheduled to meet later in the day with United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan for talks focusing on the Cyprus issue and the name of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). The two were also expected to touch on developments in the Balkans, particularly Kosovo, and Iraq. The Greek foreign minister is due to arrive back in Greece today after her US trip, during which she also met with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice who accepted an invitation to visit Greece in the near future.
