The marble Panathenaic Stadium in Athens…

The marble Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, where the Olympics were revived in their modern form in 1896, appeared ready yesterday to welcome the next Olympiad, the Athens 2004 Summer Games, following the end of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics on Sunday. Athens 2004 organizers yesterday issued a commemorative pin and unveiled a display of over 2,000 chrysanthemums of various hues and colors to mark the 900 days left until the Games begin. A new pin will be released every 100 days. It is unclear whether new floral arrangements will be set up every three months also.
