Justice Minister Anastassis Papaligouras…

Justice Minister Anastassis Papaligouras (l) shares a joke with Sports Minister Giorgos Orfanos yesterday as they prepare to discuss a crackdown on hooligans at sports events. The two ministers agreed on an amendment to the existing law which will allow for anyone arrested for violence at a game to be jailed if found guilty. The amendment does not allow offenders to buy out their jail terms or judges to issue suspended sentences, as happens often in cases right now. The change is expected to be discussed in Parliament tomorrow.
