Tourism Minister Fanni Palli-Petralia (l) was yesterday given a tour of the Olympic Stadium site in Beijing by the Chinese official responsible for the venue’s construction, Henry Zhang (r). Palli-Petralia and her Chinese counterpart Shao Qiwei signed an agreement to boost cooperation between the Greek and Chinese tourism sectors. In statements to the press, Palli-Petralia said that Greece had the potential to become the ‘number one destination’ for millions of Chinese tourists. A Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) office has been operating in Beijing for the past year. During her meeting with the general director of Air China, Ma Xu Lun, Palli-Petralia also discussed the possibility of setting up direct flights between Greece and China.
