Driver shoots boss and self

A trolley bus driver committed suicide in northeast Athens yesterday morning, moments after shooting and injuring his boss following an argument at work between the two men, police said. The unnamed 32-year-old man allegedly shot the 59-year-old ILPAP depot manager at around 5 a.m. as the victim left a bar in Galatsi, near central Athens. The attacker then drove to his apartment in Kokkinos Mylos and shot himself with the same gun, officers said. Officers found rounds from the handgun in the driver’s car. The injured man, who was also not named, was taken to Evangelismos Hospital with leg and stomach injuries. According to officers, the depot manager said he insulted the driver on Monday and that may have led to the attack. Police were yesterday taking statements from the colleagues of both men to establish the cause of the shooting.
