President Karolos Papoulias (l) is pictured yesterday receiving a signed shirt and basket ball from national basketball team captain Michalis Kakiouzis (r) and coach Panayiotis Yiannakis (c). Papoulias, once an amateur volleyball player, thanked the national basketball team, which came in second in the World Championships after losing to Spain on Sunday, for ‘rousing the Greek people.’ Team members also visited Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and Archbishop Christodoulos.
