She is to host a luncheon for the members of the UN Security Council on the occasion of its Greek presidency. The general secretary of Amnesty International, Irene Khan, speaks to the public about human rights issues at the French Institute in Athens at 7 p.m. The City of Athens and the Hellenic Medical Association for Obesity Research hold the second open educational seminar on «Obesity and Nutrition.» Greek scientists and academics will speak at the seminar. Teaching unions are due to hold a a demonstration in front of Athens University at noon. General Secretary of Amnesty International Irene Khan receives an award from the Athens Bar Association for the organization’s contribution to the protection of human rights and justice at the Old Parliament building on Stadiou Street, Athens, at 7 p.m. President of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of the Environment and Cultural Heritage Costas Karras and the academic committee of ECOCITY hold a press conference and workshop, «The End of the Era of Cheap Oil,» at noon at the offices of the Hellenic Society in Plaka.
