Against the odds, young artists are finding success
People say there’s nothing new on the culture scene in Greece, and we have no choice but to resort to the giants of the glorious past. But if you scratch the surface a little and look beyond the distorting lens of television, you’ll discover that there are voices all around with something to say. There is a new generation of creative people out there who work quietly and systematically, without making a fuss. These artists are not like their more ostentatious predecessors, who talked a lot and did very little. We talked to seven young artists who represent this trend to find out about how they work and plan out their emerging careers. Do they making a living? Do they get any support? Do they work in bars to get by? Kathimerini wanted to find out the answers to these questions but we also to understand the world of these talented artists who do their job so well.
