Riot police…

Riot police move in to separate Panathinaikos and AEK soccer fans at the Olympic Stadium in Athens yesterday. The supporters clashed on the pitch and the running track before the game between the local rivals. Some of the 40,000 supporters threw plastic seats, flares and metal poles at rival fans. The clashes led to several fans suffering minor injuries. Five people were arrested, police said. AEK, which is third, won the match 2-1 and closed the gap on leader Olympiakos. Panathinaikos remains second.
