Abuser paid boys’ fathers

Police in Edessa, northern Greece, yesterday arrested a 47-year-old Greek man who is believed to have sexually abused three Albanian boys and paid their fathers to prevent them from reporting the alleged assaults. The unnamed man is charged with repeatedly sexually abusing over the past yearthe three boys, who are aged between 9 and 13 and two of whom are brothers. The suspect is also alleged to have shown the boys pornographic films on a portable DVD player in his car. According to police, the suspect was paying the father of the two siblings between -100-150 for each instance of sexual contact with the children. The father of the third child is alleged to have demanded -50,000 from the suspect in order to keep quiet. Police said the father had already received a -2,000 deposit. The two fathers, one of whom has been arrested, are to face a local prosecutor. Police said that both families are very poor.
