Robber dies after fall from sixth-floor office
A 25-year-old man was found dead outside a building in central Athens yesterday after apparently leaping from one sixth-floor office window to another to assist in what may have been a robbery. A security guard employed at the office building discovered the man’s body at about 1 a.m., police said. The building houses the Finance Ministry’s offices and other public services. Police suspect the man, who was not identified, may have been involved in a spate of break-ins in the area. Authorities say there was evidence that thieves had broken into two office buildings and tried to break into a third. Authorities believe the suspect found dead yesterday was likely working with other thieves, since there were no stolen items found in his possession.
