You said that for the Tsaousoglou factory you dream of «a self-supporting culture mall.» How would it make money? It could operate on a little money. I don’t want to make a concert hall, a national opera or art galley there. It should be much more youth-oriented. I’d like a child to go in and stay there for hours. In culture, there’s a recipe I believe in: See, see, see; listen, listen, listen. See 500 theater plays, at some point there’ll be something you like. France has accepted exiled artists from around the world. Why can’t we absorb artists who came to Greece as migrants and who have their own culture? Ethnic music? Why not? When the Niarchos Foundation makes such a huge donation to house the National Opera or the National Library it may want to influence how they operate. Is that acceptable or have you taken steps to protect new organizations from such influence? It won’t affect how they operate at all. The foundation will make one donation to cover a serious lack of buildings. Once the new buildings are handed over to the bodies they are intended for, those bodies will have sole responsibility for them.
