Former PM Costas Simitis gestures during the launch of his new book ‘Goals, Strategies and Prospects,’ which is a collection of his speeches between 2000 and 2006, in Athens yesterday. Simitis accused the government of avoiding new ideas for fear of the political cost and thus ‘undermining, if not condemning from the outset, any attempts at change.’
