Posing as boy, female drug addict cries foul
A 24-year-old female drug addict, who allegedly posed as a 17-year-boy and told police she had been abducted and raped, yesterday faced an Athens prosecutor on charges of bearing false witness and making a false declaration. Disguised as a boy, the woman called police to Parnitha, north of Athens, on Tuesday night and allegedly told them she had been abducted from Omonia by three men and taken to Parnitha before being raped. But a subsequent hospital checkup revealed her true sex. The woman then claimed to have had a sex change operation in the USA, police said. According to officers, the woman staged the whole incident after sleeping with a fellow drug addict who failed to reward her with drugs. Officers said the same woman had made a similar claim in 2004.
