Quack offering bogus cure caught in the act
Undercover police officers yesterday arrested a man in central Athens who sold potions to people suffering from serious illnesses, including cancer, which he promised would restore their health. Acting on an anonymous complaint, two undercover officers visited the self-styled miracle worker at his office on Patission Street in central Athens and told him that their father was suffering from cancer. The unnamed suspect gave the policemen a homemade potion and asked for 220 euros. The officers arrested him. Experts were called in to analyze the range of concoctions that were found on the premises. Police said that the suspect also had another office in Kammena Vourla, central Greece, and presented a program on a minor TV channel.
