Two nuns look…
Two nuns look at a temporary barricade erected on Ledra Street in Nicosia on Saturday, two days after Greek Cypriots demolished a concrete wall that had divided the capital since 1974. On the same day a group of around 20 people chanted anti-Turkish slogans, drowning out peace songs being sung by another group. Police kept the two sides apart. But Cypriot government officials condemned the incident. Such antagonistic slogans ‘do nothing to help our national cause,’ said Cypriot Foreign Minister Giorgos Lillikas.
