The leftist guerrilla organization claimed responsibility for the missile attack on the US Embassy in January that caused some damage but no injuries. No members of the group, which has been active since 2003, have ever been arrested. CAR BOMB Bulgarian killed in Limassol blast A Bulgarian man was killed and his wife badly injured in a car bomb explosion in Limassol yesterday, Cypriot police said. The victims, both residents of Cyprus for the last year, were named as 42-year-old Athanassios Tsapelas and his 35-year-old wife Antoinetta Athanassova, who doctors said was out of danger last night. The incident occurred in the afternoon and police are investigating whether the bomb was planted in the car to murder Tsapelas or whether he was simply transporting the device when it went off. Salamina shooting A 37-year-old Albanian national was shot dead in his Salamina home on Saturday while his wife also sustained a minor gunshot injury, police said. Officers were informed of the apparent murder by the victim’s 15-year-old son who said he had been in his bedroom when he heard two gunshots before spotting someone running from the house.
