PASOK leader George Papandreou sits in the cockpit of an F-16 fighter jet at a Greek air force base in Larissa, central Greece, yesterday. Papandreou ordered his party to distance itself from comments by MP Theodoros Pangalos that the Communist Party and Synaspismos Left Coalition had ‘yet to accept parliamentary democracy’ as they insist they will not allow the university reform law to be implemented.
