Riot policemen stand guard by Parliament, under the watchful gaze of historic leader Eleftherios Venizelos, during a march by protesting students and striking workers in Athens yesterday. The students’ rally concluded peacefully, despite a few attempts by suspected anarchists to revive the violence that has marred previous rallies. Protests in the city center by civil servants, teachers and police also ended peacefully.
