A visitor…

A visitor to Athens’s National Archaeological Museum yesterday is shown admiring a 4th century BC golden wreath from Macedonia that has been returned to Greece by the J.P. Getty Museum in Los Angeles. The museum also returned a 6th century BC marble statue of a woman. Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis said the return of the artifacts had served to ‘dispel the feeble arguments put forward for the non-return’ of the Parthenon Marbles, housed in the British Museum in London.
