Same curriculum

The Cross-Cultural Junior High opened in 1985 as the High School for Overseas Greeks in Argyroupolis, eastern Athens. It was renamed the High School for Repatriated Greeks in 1991. Its pupils were mostly children of Greek emigrants to the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa. During the 1990s, repatriation dwindled and the fall of communist regimes in Eastern Europe increased the number of ethnic Greeks from those countries settling in Greece, along with immigrants from Albania, Asia and Africa. In 1996, the school was given its current name. The curriculum is the same taught in Greece’s other state schools, adapted to the children’s language needs. Since 1999, French has been added to the curriculum.
