Drunk father shoots son
Authorities are searching for a 52-year-old man after he allegedly shot and slightly injured his son after an argument in a village near Hania, Crete. Police said that the 20-year-old man had been taken to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds, with 28 pellets lodged in the front of his body. Neighbors in the village of Neo Horio Apokoronos told police the incident took place after an argument between the son and his father, who had been drinking heavily. The reasons behind the shooting are not clear but police said it was «over nothing.» The son, who is currently conducting his military service at a nearby base, was on leave for the Easter break. He told police that he had been shot at from a distance of 30 meters by his father who had only wished to scare him. The father disappeared immediately after the shooting and had not been located late yesterday, authorities said.
