A cleanup team…

A cleanup team on the island of Santorini yesterday tackles waste that has come from the Sea Diamond cruise ship which sank off the coast of the popular tourist destination earlier this month. Senior Merchant Marine Ministry officials met with Santorini municipal representatives in Athens yesterday where they focused on the steps required to pump out more than 400 tons of diesel still contained in the shipwreck. Sources said the time frame for the removal of the fuel will be determined in two weeks. The fuel tanks have not been damaged but fuel is slowly seeping out, according to officials.
