Workers marched through the streets of Athens yesterday with balloons that read ‘bonds’ and ‘funds’ in protest at the government’s handling of a pension fund scandal. The rallies took place in Athens for the annual May Day protest marches, as workers called for restitution of the money lost by pension funds and a 35-hour working week. Three rallies took place in central Athens, including a march to the Finance Ministry, while workers also gathered in Thessaloniki.
