Sea Diamond clues to surface

In the next few days a prosecutor is expected to name three experts who will analyze the information gathered from the data recorder of the Sea Diamond cruise ship to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding its sinking off Santorini last month. Sources said that a Greek prosecutor flew to Florida last week to bring back the information on a disc after it had been retrieved from the data recorder by US experts. The sinking of the Sea Diamond will be the first case worldwide in which information from the data recorder will be used by investigators. Authorities are hoping they will be able to understand exactly what led to the vessel striking a chartered reef and whether it could have been prevented from sinking afterward as well as who gave the orders for the ship to be pulled to where it was allowed to sink.
