A vandalized police patrol car is pictured outside the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki yesterday. A group of around seven hooded youths battered the car with iron bars and rocks and then torched it after two officers left it parked outside the university’s forensics laboratory while taking a suspect in for tests. The attack is believed to have been carried out in protest at the arrest of five youths for their alleged involvement in the torching of about a dozen cars outside a university campus on Saturday.
