Wearing a traditional Palestinian khaffiyeh scarf around his shoulders, composer Mikis Theodorakis speaks during a concert in support of the Palestinian people in Syntagma Square, central Athens, yesterday evening. Referring to Israeli PM Ariel Sharon as a ‘little Hitler,’ Theodorakis called for the implementation of UN resolutions calling for the withdrawal of Israel’s troops from Palestinian territories. Christos Polyzogopoulos, head of the GSEE umbrella labor union, told the crowd of several thousand that ‘our heart is in Palestine, and our heart in Palestine is being shot.’
