Feeling free, content, Litsa Papapavalou
Litsa was born and raised in Athens. After several years working in sales, she decided to go to the island from where her grandmother originated. Opening a store was an idea that a neighbor in Mersini suggested. «The next day I came and settled here, on this plot. I was initially hesitant, should I take the risk or not. I made the decision in October 2005.» She has not regretted her choice. «I have friends who can’t stay here for even two weeks. This place fills me, getting up in the morning and drinking my coffee with this view to look at. Every day there are different colors. There’s no point comparing my life here to what it would be in Athens; you can see it’s obvious.»
