Final exam results to be reissued

Several hundred high school students who are still waiting to find out about university placement following an exam result mix-up are likely to know their future by Monday, said the Education Ministry. At least 300 students and 50 university departments have been affected by the error made in assigning places at military academies. If some of those accepted at the military academies are also assigned to other colleges, this could lead to others not being able to enter university or missing out on tertiary education altogether. The ministry said yesterday that it will not post the revised results at high schools. Students will be able to find out where they will by studying by logging on to the ministry’s site at or by calling 1564. Sources said that the ministry is fearful of another mix-up and has asked police academies as well as military schools to double check the details of the students they have accepted for the new academic year.
