As International Paralympics Committee (IPC) officials carried out an inspection visit ahead of the September 2004 events, 150 people with special needs protested in central Athens seeking better facilities for the disabled. Spokeswoman Susanne Reiff said the IPC officials were satisfied with progress made on the question of sports venue and Paralympic Village accessibility. On Monday, the government promised to improve facilities for the disabled in Athens.
