Doctors at Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital stand behind singer Yakov Girshon, 63, who received the liver destined for Archbishop Christodoulos. Girshon’s mother is a Greek Jew from Thessaloniki. Christodoulos’s transplant was called off after his cancer metastasized. The archbishop is still being treated in the USA and is due to leave the hospital in about two weeks.
