City of Athens employees remove the chairs and tables belonging to a taverna from a sidewalk in the central district of Plaka as part of a drive to stop bars and restaurants from encroaching upon public spaces. Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis warned businesses earlier this year that he would not allow them to place tables and chairs on sidewalks without a permit.
