A strike yesterday…

The driver of a waste pickup truck puts his feet up yesterday during a strike yesterday when tens of drivers lined their vehicles along sections of the Attiki Odos in protest at the government shutting down the Zoitsa Quarry in eastern Attica’s Koropi region, a site where waste from building sites is dumped. Police shut down the quarry last week, where between 500 to 700 trucks dump rubbish every day, due to bureaucratic delays holding back its proper operation, according to the drivers. As a result currently there is no way of legally disposing of the waste, the protesting drivers said.
