Two youngsters walk past a pile of trash spilling onto a sidewalk in Neo Iraklion, a northern suburb of Athens, where street cleaners yesterday entered the 19th day of strike action. The workers are backing fellow colleagues who allegedly have not been paid in six months. Nearly 200 tons of garbage is believed to be littering local streets.
