Two workers involved in a project to restore sections of the Parthenon are seen on the job yesterday. Culture Ministry Michalis Liapis was briefed on the progress of work to restore the Parthenon’s north colonnade, the roof of the Propylaea and the Temple of Athena Nike. The Central Archaeological Council turned down a Health Ministry request for the Parthenon to be bathed in red light to mark World AIDS Day on December 1.
