Two injured in family row
A teenager and a 30-year-old man were hospitalized in western Athens yesterday suffering from serious knife wounds after a row broke out between the two over the boy’s mother, police said. Shortly after midnight on Tuesday night, the man appeared intoxicated at his girlfriend’s home in the western suburb of Peristeri and when they started to argue, he physically attacked the woman, aged 30. In a bid to defend his mother, the 13-year-old boy intervened but was stabbed in the heart and chest area in the process. Police said the mother then retaliated and repeatedly stabbed her boyfriend in the stomach, causing him serious injury. The woman is being held in custody at a police station in Nikaia while her other four children, aged between 6 and 16, have been taken to a children’s support group for care.
