New exams for civil servants

Candidates interested in getting a job in public services will be tested on the history of humanity and problems faced by modern man, based on a new examination system that will be introduced by the government in the first half of next year. A new exam testing general knowledge and skills is being introduced for the first time by the conservative government as part of broader procedures being implemented by the Supreme Council for Personnel Selection (ASEP). The government is expected to publish in January the deadline for the submission of job applications by candidates. Other topics to be tested include world geography, the Greek language and public administration. Job applicants will be assessed based on the score awarded in the new test and other qualifications, such as university diplomas.
