Man shoots relative in neck over money

A 57-year-old man was hospitalized in Thessaloniki yesterday following an argument with a 69-year-old relative that led to him being shot in the neck. The two men had been arguing over a financial matter when the older man lost his temper, pulled out a revolver and shot the 57-year in the neck, police said. The alleged assailant sustained head injuries during a tussle with the victim’s 30-year-old son who had tried to disarm him. The two older men, whose relation to each other was not made clear, were both in the hospital yesterday. The alleged attacker remained under police guard. The victim was said to be in a serious condition but doctors did not give details. The 30-year-old son of the victim was detained by police for questioning.
