Gas station owner is killed in robbers’ spree

A 45-year-old gas station owner was fatally injured on Thursday night during one of three robberies carried out by four masked gunmen north of Athens. Dimitris Andreadakis, who owned the gas station at the junction of Harilaou Trikoupi and Tatoi streets in Kifissia, was shot twice by the assailants who raided his store at around 9 p.m. Andreadakis, shot in the leg and chest, was taken to the hospital where he died a few hours later. Less than an hour before the gas station raid, the robbers, believed to be Albanians, had raided the nearby Pines Hotel, forcing staff at the reception desk to hand over the takings. And shortly after shooting Andreadakis, the robbers targeted another gas station on Irakleiou Avenue, police said. No one was injured in the other two raids. The assailants fled in a stolen car.
