Island of Rhodes…
A work crew attaches a strap to a vehicle in order to hoist it out of the water on the island of Rhodes yesterday after an accident that cost the life of a 38-year-old male driver. The unidentified victim was traveling at a high speed along the waterfront when his vehicle ran off the edge of the road at around midday, under unknown circumstances. Two coast guard officials and a diver helped pull the man, a local resident, out of the car, although he died en route to the hospital. Local authorities said they had launched an investigation into the incident but offered no additional details.
