Extensive child porn network uncovered
The discovery of child pornography on the laptop of a truck driver from the Peloponnese has led to one of the biggest police operations of its type in Greece, which could result in up to 22 people facing charges. Sources said yesterday that police have collected more than 12,000 gigabytes of indecent images and videos from the computers of people in various parts of Greece. Officers do not think that the images came from Greece but are likely to have been downloaded from foreign websites and then traded by Greek pedophiles. Police have already arrested a doctor in connection to the exchange of child pornography as part of operation «Carousel,» which has been under way over the last eight months. The unnamed doctor has been released on bail. Another 21 people could soon face charges, sources said.
